Hi guys,
This is kind of embarassing, at least for me, but I have had bad breath issues for awhile. Could I have IBS? Sometimes I have some discomfort and/or bloating, as well,
after I eat certain foods.
    Any ideas/advice?

I am a 47 year old female who suffered from urticaria from the age of 18 after about a year , maybe 2 of starting my period, until a few years ago . It was usually when I menstrated and not every month. I change my pill, changed to sanitary towels incase it was the tampons, took no pill.... nothing worked. the weals on my body were sometimes so severe i had to often have quartizone injections. If I had the allery, somethings, like chocolate, would agrevate it. I became 'allergic " to the sun and couldn't be outside where i would get sunburnt... but all related to my period. The urticaria would drive me mad, was so itchy and so hot it was so sore .I was desperate. Eventually a dermatologist put me on a mini pill ( cant remember the name) and it improved so much, she said I was probably allergic to my hormones.I continued to take that pill until my husband had a vastectomy about 4 years ago and i went off the pill (aged about 42) and have not had a period since and NO urticaria either. I sincerely hope that it does not get passed onto my daughter as I suffered for over 20 years and there was very little i could do.

I have read your book "Winning the War Against Asthma and Allergies": it is great! This new approach for treating for allergies is impressive.
I Hope to find someone near my home( Italy), able to practice this technique of NAET for my asthmatic and allergic 7 years old child!

I lived in Asia, and i must say MSG is a common things we found everyday in our daily food. While there are many health cases caused by MSG, still people use MSG in their daily menus.

Its a pretty sad condition i say

Thanks

Thanks for this great article! I loved it! I would have to disagree. Exercise for an asthmatic is very beneficial. It has saved my life. If I did not do my cardio workouts, I could barely make it through my day. But...Just a little at a time, and then build up to it... 10 minutes ever day for seven days, then next week, 15 minutes for seven days, etc. I am telling you, it helps!!

Eliminating all dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt, etc>) will not only reduce mucus. But the milk protein is an inflammatory food and keeps the lung in constant inflammation. Then environmental agents (pollen, dander, dust, etc.) have a lower threshold for triggering astham attacks.

See mor about inflammatory and anti-inflammatory foods in my European Natural Medicine-based book Health20 - Tapping into the Healing Power of Water" (McGraw Hill 2007).

Dr.Cutler,

I live in the New York City area and would like to see someone in regards to my 12 years feeling of near syncope. I have associated it with oily, fatty or gassy foods. I have done colonoscopies, Upper endoscopies, MRIs, I have seen a Cardiologist, Endocrinologists, Urologist and Neurologists, all types of blood work and everything comes back normal. It all started a day or two while still in the hospital for a hysterectomy and has continued throughout the years, sometimes on a daily basis for months on end. My only ease is when I try eating only bland foods and the same food every day. One neurologist that my Primary Care Physician referred me to suggested that I should try some medication for Abdominal epilepsy, it just so happened that I had a very bad case of poison ivy at the time and was not able to start the medication. I just saw another GI doctor who indicated that I may be suffering from lack of good bacteria in my intestines from antibiotics given after my surgery 12 years ago. one day ago she started me on Probiotic Florastor, which am to take for two weeks. I saw a nutritionist yesterday who suggested taking Beano but I have decided not to at the moment..waiting to see whether the Florastor will work.

I am really desperate now because my whole social life depends on how and what I eat. My near syncope always starts right after my stomach feels messed up and sometimes last for hours after which am tired and drained. Also, I have noticed that when this happens and I move my bowels(which most times I have from 2-6 bowel movements) even after having a full meal, I am then totally hungry like I have not eaten for days. The bowel movement does not bother me as much as the near syncope feeling. I work but I have stopped going for walks by myself because am afraid of actually passing out(which incidentally has never happened over the 12 years with this condition, but I am afraid).

I need your opinion..I just happened to come across your book last night and bought it...The food Allergy Cure. Not sure why but I bought it because I had never heard of you before. I was reading one of the stories of the 81 year old(Betsy) woman and saw the part of her always having to constantly eat to avoid feeling lethargic or faint and that's exactly how I feel. So if there is anyway that you can help me I would very much appreciate.
